Who is responsible
Simon Holian, trading as Scaley Hosting, is the controller of your personal data. Contact: contact@scaley.host.
This website
This page sets no cookies and uses no tracking or analytics. Our network provider, Cloudflare, handles each request and may keep short-lived technical logs, such as your IP address, to keep the site secure.
What we collect from customers
- Your name, email address and the team members you invite, to run your account.
- Billing details: Stripe holds your card; we see only the card type, the last four digits and your payment history.
- Your website files, databases and the addresses you forward mail to, because that is the service.
- Technical logs of visits to your sites and of sign-ins, kept for security and fault finding.
Why we use it
To provide the service you pay for (contract), to keep accounts and records the law asks for (legal obligation), and to keep the service secure (legitimate interests). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Amazon Web Services, in London, runs the servers.
- Stripe takes payments.
- Cloudflare carries forwarded mail and our DNS.
- Google or GitHub, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Some of these companies may handle data outside the UK, under safeguards that UK law accepts.
How long we keep it
Account data stays while your account is open. After a site is deleted, its backups are removed within 30 days. We keep billing records for six years, as UK tax law asks.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to move it to you. Email contact@scaley.host. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
